TENS = Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation
TENS in pediatrics is used for treating nerve pain and easing pain after an operation. It works best for pain that is localized.
NMES = Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation
NMES in pediatrics is used for improving strength, motor function and is usually used during exercise or walking to improve gait.
